Spyware Blaster is a free utility from Javacool Software. It is used to block malicious software and spyware. This tool is most useful with the IE web browser because it has embedded dedicated tools for IE. It blocks malicious ActiveX software. You can also use spyware blaster to block flash contents and cookies on any webpage.
Use spyware blaster to protect your computer from ActiveX-based and cookie attacks. Active-X and cookie protection is only available for the IE browser, for Firefox only the cookie protection option is available. You can also restrict sites which have explicit contents. To enable or disable the protection, go to the protection status tab and click on the options you want to enable or disable.
The system snapshot option enables you to create a snapshot of system and browser settings.. You can create and restore your snapshot in the System Snapshot tab.
The Tools tab enables you to configure your browser settings. This option is under IE browser pages.
Other settings include Host Safe which is used to create and restore backup copies of your Hosts files. Misc. IE Settings for IE customization and restrictions. Flash Killer settings, which disable your browser from downloading and displaying Flash content. The custom blocking option allows you to customize and create your own list of ActiveX controls that you want to block.
Overall, it’s a very good program for blocking spyware and for preventing your browser from being hijacked by some crappy malicious program.
