Previously, I wrote about how you can encrypt your USB flash drive and how to encrypt files and folders on a Windows PC. Today, I will talk about how you can encrypt your iPhone backup that is stored by iTunes.
By default, you can’t just encrypt the entire iTunes folder to encrypt your iPhone backup and it’s not really recommended either. Luckily, there is an option in iTunes that lets you easily encrypt the backup.
First connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes. It should appear under the list of Devices.
Go ahead and select the device and click on the Summary tab. Under the Options section, you’ll see a check box called Encrypt iPhone Backup.
Go ahead and check that option and you’ll be asked to enter a password to protect the backup file.
Click Set Password and you’re done! Now all of your iPhone data is secure and encrypted. In order to perform a restore, you will have to remember the password, so make sure you don’t forget it.
Note that an iPhone backup contains text messages, notes, call history, contacts, sound settings, pictures stored in camera roll, and more. Enjoy!

I accidently didn’t make a password. Then I set it. What do i do now? It asks for a password that i never made.
