Remote Desktop is great, it allows you to connect to remote computers on a network in a blink. in this post I will write about how to optimize remote desktop connection to connect faster.
Once you open remote desktop connection click on Options:
then click on the Display tab and make sure the remote desktop size is set to Full Screen and colors is set to 256 colors:
Click on the Local Resources tab, and under the remote computer sound select Do not play. this is to avoid the remote computer sending audio to your computer through the network: ya know, those stinky windows sound:
now click on the Experience tab and under performance choose Modem (28.8 Kbps) on the ” allow the following” option uncheck everything but Bitmap caching, leave reconnect if connections is dropped check:
click on the Advanced tab and under the option: If actual verification does not meet the minimum Requirements choose Connect and don’t warn me:
click on the Option tab again and click connect, you should see a screen like this:
I know is not the the most beautiful screen to look at, but Remote Desktop connection will be speedy.
