Adobe Dreamweaver is one of the best web editing tools available. One of the reasons I love this program is that it lets you easily work with object insertion without having to edit the code by hand. Who wants to memorize the Flash or ActiveX object tag parameters anyway?
Using Dreamweaver you can quickly insert any popular media object, such as Flash, Shockwave, ActiveX plugins, and Java applets with a few button clicks. First position the cursor on the part of the page where you want to insert a media object then click the Insert menu. Under the Insert menu, click Media then choose a type of media that you want to insert.
In this tutorial I will show you an example on how to insert a common SWF file (more commonly known as the Flash movie file). I have put the SWF file along with the other files on the page that I was editing. This way you can easily locate the file when you insert it using Dreamweaver. Locate the SWF file then click OK to finish the process:
It will prompt for a title parameter so just key in a descriptive title then click OK:
You should be able to see the object on the design view and when you click the object its parameters will automatically show on the lower part of Dreamweaver. Here you can set the property parameters like width, height and alignment. This property window is context sensitive so if you click outside of the flash object, the property of the clicked object will replace the Flash movie’s property box.
The steps for the other types of media are almost the same and will only vary depending on the media type’s property parameters. Dreamweaver automates the tag code for you so you can edit the parameters visually using it’s WYSIWYG GUI.
Save time, do not code by hand if you have a tool like Dreamweaver. You may download a trial version of the new Dreamweaver CS4 from http://www.adobe.com/.
Ben Carigtan shows you how it’s done.

I keep doing all this. When I test it by choosing Explorer from within Dreamweaver it works fine. When I post it to the site live….. it doesn't work.
It could be the path to the media file.
I would do the steps below to fix this:
1. locate the media file and put it on the same web directory as the page
2. insert the media file using dreamweaver
3. upload both page and media file to the host server
if this doesn't work then the path to the media file should be checked. it should use a relative path and not an absolute path.
In Dreamweaver, I am having problems inserting objects such as sounds and fisheye rollover efects which were purchased from Dynamic Trio Solutions. The problem is that once I click the OK button to insert these objects, there appear graphic "gaps"…
vertical or horizontal lines of varying small widths which are just like those you get when you place too many lines of text in a field.
Someone must have had and solved this problem
