RMicrosoft Internet Information Services (IIS) is the second most popular web server in the world just behind Apache HTTP server. the most current IIS version is 7.0 which is shipped on Windows Server 2008, and in most of Windows Vista versions. Windows Server 2003 is shipped with IIS 6.0, the one we are going to install on this tutorial.
To Install IIS on windows server 2003, login to your server and go to Start> Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs:
Click on Add/Remove Windows Components, then, on the Windows Components Wizard select Application Server:
Click Next. The Installation of IIS should start.
This is a basic installation of IIS, good enough for a testing environment. if you want to use IIS on a production environment, you should consult your organization for certificates and security needs.
