This tip will let you control all desktop wallpapers for all users on a Vista or XP computer. This is great for corporate environments where Admins want to keep the desktops for all user uniform.
If you are itching to do this now, you have the same addiction to control as a PC admin. If you want to show them who’s the boss, control their wallpapers!
First go to the Local Group Policy Editor of Windows Vista. To do this you must be the administrator or a member of the administrator account. Click on Start then type GPEDIT.MSC on the search bar and hit Enter. The Local Group Policy Window will be opened.
On the Local Group Policy Window Expand User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Desktop then click on the second Desktop folder. On the right pane of the window double click on Desktop Wallpaper to open the desktop wallpaper properties window.
On the Desktop Wallpaper Properties window click on the Enabled option and set the path of wallpaper you want use on the Wallpaper Name. For example the wallpaper you want to use is located in drive C:\MYWALLPAPERS and filename of your wallpaper is MYPICTURE.JPG then the path would be C:\MYWALLPAPERS\MYPICTURE.JPG.
After setting the path you can choose how the wallpaper will appear on the Wallpaper Style drop down menu. Click ok then restart your computer for the setting to take effect.
Ben shows you how it’s done!
