if you use Bittorrent or P2P clients like limewire probably your ISP is monitoring your Internet traffic, they also shape the amount of data you can download at certain speed, in other words there is nothing you can do to speed up downloads when using bittorent or P2P clients, well, almost nothing because you can try one of these tricks and see if you can fool your ISP;

If your use utorrent go to options>preferences>Bittorent> and select “protocol Encryption” and choose enable, or force.

bitorrent

this is going to the encrypt the connection from Bittorent but the ISP will still see the amount of traffic coming to your network, but it won’t be able to see where is coming from, so you might fool your ISP to think you probably downloading something else other than bitorrent stuff.

you can also try to change the port connections, from options>preferences>connections “port used for incoming connections” change the numbers to anything above 10000, like 50344, you will also need to open this port on the router to speed up bittorrent, login to your router and do a port ford warding with the bittorrent port number to the computer where you want to use it. please refer to one of my early post on how to do port forwarding on a router
