Lately I been using a sleek slim laptop from Dell, it is called Dell Latitude D430 and is ultra light, weighing almost the same as a normal paper notebook, the only thing I don’t like is performance.
The laptop is equipped with a Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 1.20 GHz processor and 1 GB of memory, and normally last about 3:30 hours on battery when lowering down the brightness of the screen, the other way around it lasts much less, about 2 hours at the most. It has a full standard keyboard which is really easy to type unlike other laptops with midget keyboards.
It has three USB ports which is not bad but I wish it had more, it has an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection wireless card which it has a hard time connecting to some wireless spots sometimes.
The DC/DVD drive is external; it comes attached to a small docking station that comes with the laptop, which when attached to the laptop, it gives the weight of a normal size portable laptop.
If you are a techie, I won’t recommend this laptop, its slow in performance, speakers sound is horrible and you need to have the docking station attached to it when using the DC/DVD ROM. If you are a normal user and just need a laptop for traveling to check e-mails and work in simple documents on the road this laptop is for you. I’m returning this laptop for a bigger one but faster.
