Worked okay in Safe Mode and, eventually, I decided to use "Last Known Good Configuration" which seems to have sorted it. Interestingly, the pre-reqs are still there. I wondered if reverting to another config might remove them, but apparently not. The problem was a black screen after post. No Windows logo at all.
