In the last decade mostly all malicious software has been written with windows Operating System in mind and being the most popular practically all attacks have targeted its security vulnerabilities, and other security holes.
In 2003, Microsoft halted its software development and started an internal review of its operating system and applications, and it begun engineering software with security at its core. Being Windows Vista the first Operating System to be released after this review, it has been engineered with much security enhancements in mind, some of it carried over from Windows XP and some of its security features are completely new to Windows OS.
Does this mean Windows vista is unbreakable? Of course not, there will always be security vulnerabilities that hackers will be able to exploit, but Vista is demonstrably more secure than its predecessors.
In this blog, I will review all the security features found in Windows Vista, from applications and features you use everyday to the more low level securities that probably most users never have heard of.
