Microsoft is making every effort to evaporate all the bad publicity Windows Vista got when it was released last year. The truth is that up until now Windows Vista has not improve in performance or comparability, and people are still bashing Vista left and right, and with a good reason; according to my testing, Windows Vista is still way to slow and troublesome than windows XP.
The problem is that Most PCs today are sold with Windows Vista Pre-installed, and in that case unless you want to pay for an extra XP license you will have to deal with vista. Microsoft just released an E-book (PDF) to help you tune windows vista for it’s best performance. Download it from here. You won’t find any rocket science tricks on the paper, but still is worth the read.
There is another thing that Microsoft is doing, that made me laugh the other day. They ran a test of about 140 people that had low opinion about vista, and they were shown what was said to be the next Microsoft Operating System called Mojave, and all of the testers at the end said that they liked what they saw. To their surprised they were told that Mojave was actually Vista after the test. Take a look a the test Web site here
Hopefully in the future vista get better, as for me I’ll wait until the next OS release.
