Comments on: Troubleshoot Windows Update fails to install updates

I’ve had the same problems. Error Codes 2147024891,0×80246008,&0×80041014. BITS service won’t start &WMI software moved or missing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I tried to reset windows update and restart BITS, but I get the following error:

“Windows cannot start the Background Intelligent Transfer Service on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code -2147024891.”

Any ideas?

I have followed the described proceure that 1. stop service winodsupdate, 2. delete all windows update, 3. install windows update – windowsupdateagent30-x86.exe /wuforce

I got installation error 0×800703e6

I have Vista Ultimate
