#79 RadarSync: It does what it says it will, provide you with a list of what you need to update. However, like all Driver Download programs are, after it does the scan, you get, “Oh, you must subscribe before your updates can be download. And, it is not a free registration, but registration for a yearly fee that you must provide. Dang Rip Off !!!!!!

Great list – just what I was looking for – you’re doing a great job on your blogs. There are at least 20 in your list of I not heard of, and am keen to try out. Of course I wanted to add a couple of my favourites that are not in your list…

keepass – for creating a strongly-encrypted username/password database, so you only have to remember one password

xnview – file explorer with all sorts of wonderful functions and features for managing, viewing and converting image files

filerenamerbasic – file browser which allows you to (batch) rename files in many different ways

Great post! One thing about security and backup – I really believe that it is better to use any trustworthy secure USB flash drive to keep your passwords and other important data. I admit I ignored this tip before and paid the price….

Brilliant list. When you are talking about password management tools, I use Sticky Password

It is integrated and really easy to use.

You’ve got a duplicate.

9. Continuing on with passwords, did you know you could password protect EXE files? Yes it’s possible with a program called Empathy! Pretty neat eh?

94. Have you ever wondered if there was a way to password protect EXE files? Let’s say you didn’t want your kids to ever open Yahoo Messenger without typing in a password. You can password protect programs using Empathy.

Something is still missing:

If you need to share something quickly to your friends from your own computer, nice way to do that is start your webserver… and no, you don’t need to install apache, just crap HFS (http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/) which is single binary to run. Or maybe something more advanced (and still very lightweigth), then you can get Home Web Server (http://downstairs.dnsalias.net/homewebserver.html).

99! big number, considering on average I use 5-10 programs. Some of these progs are not the BEST, its only that they are free. Just because they are free, does not mean we should use them.

Had a big laugh here:
56. You’ve all probably heard of CrossLoop for remotely sharing your desktop, but you can also use Mikogo or Remobo.
and here
1. We’ve all heard of 7-zip, WinRAR, and WinZip, but what about other great zipping programs like PeaZip, TugZip, and Jzip?
