Ryan has been writing how-to and other technology-based articles online since 2007. He has a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering and he's worked 13 years in automation engineering, 5 years in IT, and now is an Apps Engineer.

Ryan is a technology writer who has been writing about technology online since 2007. He was a writer and editor for LoveToKnow.com, Lifewire.com and served as Managing Editor of MakeUseOf.com from 2014-2017.

Since 1998, Ryan worked for Pratt & Whitney as an automation engineer for 13 years, worked as a Senior IT Analyst for Corning Life Sciences for 5 years, worked as an applications engineer for Process Automation Solutions for 3 years, and currently works for Eastman Chemical as a overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) leader focusing on manufacturing digitalization.

Ryan has presented at the OSIsoft National Conference in San Francisco in 2014 and was been featured on national TV (History Channel and Canada's Vision TV), as well as on radio and various podcasts.

Ryan attended the University of Maine at Orono, earning a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree. Over the years, he's earned numerous certifications in automated manufacturing, as well as process data collection and analysis.
