Saikat Basu

Saikat writes about technology from his small desk in Kolkata, India. As an Army brat he traveled all over the country and then settled in this eastern coast. He started his professional life with an MBA degree in his pocket and a desire to escape the cubicle. A decade long career in marketing was punctuated with learning experiments in web development, graphic design, and SAP.

He turned to writing about web apps, free software, productivity, and knowledge management for sites like MakeUseOf and GuidingTech. It was the perfect marriage of his introversion and love for the digital world.

On the side, he picks up his camera when he is free. Writing short stories and poetry are his refuge and somehow keep alive his dream to write a science fiction novel one day.

He continues to work on his storytelling skills while trying to answer the big question: how can we stay afloat in the sea of information and make our lives a little better with its help?
